Bits and Pieces

To know me is to know I live for this season. This is my time. By the end of July I start to get anxious that it's coming to an end, but right now, this moment, this is it. Everything feels happy and carefree. People everywhere are smiley, the city is a playground. The fresh berries! The colors of the sunset at night! All the kids out on their bikes on our street, families eating dinner on their patios. Our grill! My chef! I love it all so much. This is why we live here.

We've been taking everything in the past few weeks and have some exciting plans for the rest of summer. We always tend to overbook ourselves this time of year, but there's so much I want to do before we're locked inside again. We haven't even dusted off our bikes yet! Hoping to bike here for some smoked salmon and fried shrimp sometime soon.

We're off to Croatia tonight, and I'm looking forward to exploring cobbled streets and relaxing by the sea. We've rented a villa with a big pool, and I'm excited to just take it easy for a week. I love Chicago summers, but I love European ones just as much.

    One of my favorite things about you is that you are also someone who ADORES summer! I feel like you're with me on the "I'll fight you if you think fall (or whatever other dumb season) is better than summer." SUMMER IS PERFECT! Hope you keep having a great one :) <3
