Ninj & Ninj Planner & Print

Tuesday, July 26, 2016

Growing up, back-to-school season was my favorite season. Sure, summer break was fun, but you'd never hear me complain about the TV commercials that remind you (as early as June 1, it seems) that school will be back in session soon. I'd be giddy all July, knowing it was almost time to buy brand new supplies and outfits. My best friend and I would set a date to dump all of our purchases in one of our living room floors, unwrap all of our sealed folders and notebooks, organize them by color and label them for hours. I never claimed to be cool.

Last year, I started a new job in late August, and, for the sake of nostalgia, treated myself to a first day of work dress (a step up from 6th grade's first-day-of-school short overalls, or 7th grade-12th grades' first-day-of-school skort collection) and tote (like the backpacks of years past, without the 30 key chains). This year, while I'm not starting a new year of school or a new job, I'm still refreshing parts of my day-to-day routine and decor for a fresh start this fall.

Lovely Jenna of Ninj & Ninj sent me the most beautiful blush planner and inspiring print to get me started. Both have claimed a spot at my home desk (a Brian-Ladan shrine, it seems — whoops!), and in a small living space, these little additions are enough to feel like big, welcomed additions.

One of the best things about Ninj & Ninj products is how affordable they are. We're in the process of picking out some art for our bedroom, and while we've settled on prints instead of original work, we're finding they can still be so expensive. This print is hilarious, pretty and $11.

To say I know my planners is ... an understatement. Since I started middle school, mine has been strapped to me at all times, every year, year-round. I don't know a thing without it, but with it, I feel unstoppable. For a while before we got married I tried to go share a Google Calendar with Brian, but old habits die hard, and it didn't work, so we've come up with a new "system" (I send him photos of each week, it doesn't work) because nothing beats a good planner. A Moleskine devotee, I give my approval to this one as well. It's the perfect size, clean, with plenty of room for notes. Best of all, it forces you to stop and set goals for each month, instead of blindly letting the weeks fly by.

To get you ready for a fresh start this fall, Ninj & Ninj is giving away one print and planner (same as the ones above) to one lucky reader! Yahoo! Enter below! The giveaway will close on Sunday, July 31. One randomly selected winner will be notified by email. Good luck!

P.S.  Ninj & Ninj is offering readers 15% off all Etsy purchases with code MAKETHEMOST. Offer ends 7/31/2016. Happy shopping!
