Hey, Thanks!

I turned 26 yesterday! Ideally, the 25 at 25 list would be wrapped up, but here I am, 26 with a few goals unfinished:

4. Read 20 books.
7. Freelance.
11. Find my signature cocktail.
12. Learn to French braid.
18. Learn how to use my camera manually, not on automatic.
19. Take a weekend trip to a new Chicago neighborhood.

In my defense, I started 20 books. I probably started 50 books. It's just so hard for me to finish those sorts of things. I think I watched one movie from start to finish all year. That's not a good excuse, though. I should push myself to sit and focus more. Also, the other goals are in motion, and if you'll let me, I'd like to blog about them as I complete them. I'm working with some super cool companies on a few of the goals, I can't wait to share it all with you.

Let's talk about this blog, which turned 1 yesterday. You guys indulged me through 149 posts. The fact that I had 149 things to write about amazes me (then again I wrote about this, this and this, so the bar was low). This blog has helped me realize all the good in my life. It has helped me find joy in my day-to-day, and I want to say thank you to you. Thank you for reading, for your wonderful emails and comments. Thank you for giving me the chance to share snippets of my everyday life, to share these little moments that I love and I believe are worth remembering and celebrating. Thank you for celebrating them with me. Thank you for your support with the opportunities that have come from the sidelines of this little blog. Thank you for being so kind.

And one last big thank you while I'm on a thank you tangent. Thank you to Brian. For staying up late for weeks before I launched the blog last year, trying to figure out the HTML of this thing and all of its quirks, for always pushing me, supporting me, congratulating me. I read a lot of blogs, a lot of blogs, and I used to feel so bad for the boyfriends that have to photograph things for their girlfriends after work, and yet there we were a few nights ago, hurriedly shooting a necklace for a future post. Oops! Thank you for being the best. All of you. You're so great. I want to give you a big, fat virtual kiss.

  1. I love your blog and I love you! Happy 26th, girl! I'll be there to join you soon. :)

    1. Thank you! You're the best. Happy birthday to YOU <3

  2. I love this and I am always encouraged by you and your writing. Your writing pushes me to write. Love you!

    1. And I love you and YOUR blog, which I check embarrassingly often waiting for a new post ;-)
