Lily Visits!

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

My friend Lily visited Chicago last weekend, and I'm still sitting here coming up with reasons for her to move (It's not that cold! We have the best pizza! That skyline!). Having her here is always such a treat. I get to see places and eat things that aren't part of my day-to-day routine and pretend we're back in college sneaking into bars, eating our weight in pizza. I'm a lucky girl to have this girl around.

^^ We kicked off the weekend with drinks at The Signature Lounge on the 96th floor of the John Hancock Center after work. Look at that view!

^^ On Saturday we went to Hot Doug's and had the best hot dogs and duck fat fries. And we met Doug himself! I had been wanting to go for a long time, but Brian doesn't like hot dogs and the wait can be long, so it never seemed worth the effort. But it is, folks. Brian had (and loved!!!) his hot dog, and (maybe because it was 0 degrees?) the wait was only 30 minutes.

^^ We went to Revolution Brewery for a tour, but they were booked, so we just chat over some beers instead.

^^ At night we celebrated my friend Maria's birthday! We rented a room at a karaoke bar and sang our hearts out. I was in heaven, of course.

^^ On Sunday Brian, Lily and my little brother went trapezing, we ate Iranian food, watched Brian play soccer and ate too many treats for two at Eataly.

^^ And on Monday we hit up my favorite brunch spot and shopped on Michigan Avenue before Lily had to leave.

What a great visit. A mini guide to some of my favorite things in Chicago, really. Can't wait to do this again soon (if you move here, we can do this every weekend...) :-)

  1. I'm moving to Chicago as soon as I can OR we can just move to Cali already!!!

  2. This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing blog that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. this hyperlink
