Greetings from California!

Wednesday, October 2, 2013

My body is as thankful for this week as it is confused. Three (ahem, six) gourmet meals a day? 100-degree weather? Complete silence outside when it's time to sleep? Cable TV?!??!?! Business trips aren't so bad, and Palm Springs is far from terrible.

It has been a busy week, but a good one. My company usually hires professional videographers to assist our editors at events, but this week I was the videographer, and the interviewer, and there's a high chance nothing was recorded properly, but that's next week's problem. I had the opportunity to meet and interview Pulitzer prize winning New York Times reporter Charles Duhigg, and I'm grateful for that. I've eaten well, drank the best wines, soaked up some sun. Oh, and I met the band Sister Hazel. Ha!

Still, I'm ready to go home soon, to the empty fridge, to the 2 a.m. fights in the alley behind my bedroom that wake me up, to the internet that rarely works. There's comfort in chaos, you know? See you soon, Chicago! xx.
