Go One Week Without Hitting Snooze

Monday, October 21, 2013

I am the queen of snoozing and have been since I got my first alarm before starting sixth grade. Like, this morning ... I set my alarm for 5:30. I had the best intentions (kind of) to shower, dry my hair, pick clothes that match, put on some makeup, eat breakfast in our dining room, pack a lunch, unpack my suitcase from this weekend, but I did just about none of it. I snoozed the alarm from 5:30 to 7:50. That's 140 minutes, guys. It's terrible, and I do it almost every day. It's such a bad habit, and that's exactly what it is, a habit. My body knows it doesn't have to wake up, won't wake up, but gets bothered every nine minutes anyway. Not this week. Tuesday-Tuesday I'm setting one alarm (at a more decent hour, let's say 7), not snoozing, getting right out of bed and not rushing around before sprinting to the el. Let's try it together. One alarm for seven days. You can change the times each day, and if your weekend isn't busy, don't set one. It's going to be difficult, but it'll be off my list.
